Don MacKay (BSIM 1975) retired in early 2014 and started volunteering with the Daniels School of Business, working with students. He calls it the best career decision he ever made.
John Cooper (BSIM 1989) moved from Endeavor to TKO as Executive Vice President, Legal and Business Affairs, TKO and General Counsel, WWE. TKO is a public company with business in sports and media, including WWE, UFC, IMG and PBR.
Joel A. DuBois (BSGM 1980) worked for Exxon/ExxonMobil in controller’s organizations, mostly in Texas (Kingsville, Corpus Christi & Houston), and traveled to about 10 countries for work. He lived in the UAE and Equatorial Guinea before retiring in July 2018 after more than 37 years.
Bryan Schafer (BS 1982, MSM 1991) retired from The Procter & Gamble Company and now spends his time traveling and spoiling his grandchildren.
Daniel J. Cakora (BS 2006) joined the Daniels School Alumni Board in September 2024.
Christian Piller (BSIM 2007) and his family welcomed their daughter, Elin, joining her big brother, Rhett, as future Boilermakers.
August “Augie” Pence (BS 2010, MBA 2011) completed his eight-year anniversary working at Centerfield and was promoted to partner at the beginning of 2025. He leads Centerfield’s newest investment strategy, Centerfield Equity, focusing on acquiring and partnering with lower middle-market companies in the Midwest. He also chairs the board of ASAP Garage Door Repair and Dental Alliance Group.
Brandon Lieu (MBA 2023) was promoted to Vice President at Goldman Sachs.
