As a Daniels School of Business EMBA student, you can benefit from career management support both while you are in the program and after graduation.
Our support encompasses three parts: career assessment; self-discovery and career development planning; and career skill building. A career management consultant will guide you through these steps and help you leverage your work experience and Purdue EMBA for the next stages of your career.
Our goals:
We present a four-part approach to career management:
Get Ahead in Your EXECUTIVE MBA Career
"The career management aspect of the program was a real surprise for me. I've seen how the staff of the program have engaged certain individuals who have more immediate needs and you know really impressed with the level of support. I was really surprised with how proactive we as students can be in our own careers and the level of tools that are available to us my career goals."
Brian Cronin, EMBA Class of 2021
From the start of the program through six months after graduation, you will work with a career management consultant. This person will explore the Birkman assessment, strength analysis, creating a development plan, and defining and improving your personal brand, and will provide general advice and counsel. Having an external, objective resource will encourage you to ask the right questions and get you to the new opportunities you seek.
Core and functional courses offered include Managing Behavior in Organizations, Leadership, Negotiations, Business Law & Ethics, Change Management, and Active Learning Projects.
The Purdue EMBA program offers a wide variety of immersion, or workshop-style, electives, including coaching and mentoring and improving team performance.
Company visits, guest speakers, networking events, business etiquette dinners, topical presentations, workshops and more are built into our residencies.
The Purdue EMBA Program partners with Right Management, an organization that specializes in career management and transitions, helping companies and individuals engage and develop talent.
Robin L. Silverman, Vice President and Principal Consultant with Right Management, and Executive MBA alumni discuss ways to boost your EMBA program through career management and executive coaching in this recent webinar.
