Daniels School makes giant leap in undergraduate rankings

With the largest jump of any school in the top 30, Purdue’s Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business rose nine spots to #21 in this year’s U.S. News & World Report’s undergraduate business program rankings. It’s the school’s highest ranking, which is based on the opinions of business school deans and program directors, since 2018.

New faculty member to lead Purdue’s Center for Working Well

Award-winning professor and researcher Dr. Allison Gabriel has joined the faculty at Purdue’s business school as the Thomas J. Howatt Chair in Management and director of the university’s new Center for Working Well. The center aims to be a cutting-edge center at the forefront of challenges facing modern workforces and employees’ desire to “work well.”

Daniels School professors recognized for teaching excellence

Three professors in the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business have been honored for their excellence in teaching. The 2022-23 KATE Teaching Excellence Awards went to Timothy Moore for Excellence in Course Delivery and to Matthew Lynall and Fabricio d’Almeida for Excellence in Course Innovation. Winners were selected by a committee of faculty, students and teaching and learning staff.

Daniels School professor appears before Senate Special Committee on Aging

Susan Lu, our Gerald Lyles Rising Star Professor of Management, gave expert testimony at a hearing of the United States Senate Special Committee on Aging. The hearing focused on the strained nursing home inspection system and the need to improve oversight, transparency and accountability.

Alumnus and wife give $10 million in unrestricted support to Daniels School

Purdue University has received a $10 million commitment from Gerald and Nanette Lyles for unrestricted support of the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business. The commitment represents the latest in a long history of giving for the Lyles family, which can trace its Purdue ties back to Gerald’s maternal grandfather, who was both a student and a professor at the university.

Daniels School professor recognized for industrial and organizational psychology research

Michael A. Campion, the Herman C. Krannert Distinguished Professor of Management at the business school, won the 2023 Distinguished Professional Contributions Award given by the Society for Industrial and Organizational Psychology (SIOP). It is a lifetime achievement award for contributions to the improvement of practices in one’s profession.

Daniels School awarded the 2023 INFORMS UPS George D. Smith Prize

INFORMS, the largest association for the decision and data sciences, has awarded its 2023 UPS George D. Smith Prize to the Business Analytics and Information Management (BAIM) programs at the Mitchell E. Daniels, Jr. School of Business. The award recognizes excellence in preparing students to become practitioners of operations research and analytics.
