Safety and Security

Living and studying in another country and culture may present special safety and security challenges. All Krannert study abroad programs have emergency protocols that are covered in the orientation sessions provided at the start of the in-country stay. Students are strongly encouraged to follow the guidelines given during those sessions. Program fees include the cost of mandatory emergency insurance coverage for all Krannert students.

IN AN EMERGENCY

First, reach out to the onsite contact person(s) for your program. The appropriate number can be found in the orientation information given at the start of your in-country stay. In extreme emergencies in which that person cannot be reached, students should telephone the Purdue Study Abroad office at +1-765-494-2383 during weekday business hours (Eastern time zone). Outside of business hours, students may contact the Purdue Police Department at +1-765-494-8221.
