Dr. Laura Stef-Praun is a lecturer and award-winning content strategist whose work explores the intersections of storytelling, technology, and leadership communication. Trained as a qualitative researcher, she is a data-driven professional writer and editor. Her academic background includes an MA from Purdue and a PhD in English Literature from the University of Chicago with a specialization in Victorian literature and disability studies. Dr. Stef-Praun started her post-graduate teaching career at Purdue in 2001, where she was also part of the OWL Writing Lab. Having returned to Purdue after 13 years in the corporate world, she currently teaches courses in strategic business writing, integrated business and engineering communication, and executive presence. Her pedagogy is grounded in helping students communicate persuasively across professional, technical, and creative contexts.

Dr. Stef-Praun brings 13 years of corporate experience to the classroom, bridging academic inquiry with real-world application. She worked as an executive ghostwriter and strategic advisor, helping thought leaders formulate and translate complex research-based ideas into clear, influential narratives. She held senior content strategy roles at global firms such as Accenture, Baker McKenzie, and Grant Thornton, where she led research-based marketing initiatives and high-impact communications across various industries and services, including talent and organization. Her teaching and consulting reflect a commitment to inclusive, evidence-based storytelling that engages audiences and drives change.
