Filippo Mezzanotti is an Associate Professor of Finance at Daniels School of Business, Purdue University. He is also a Research Fellow for the Productivity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship Program at the National Bureau of Economics Research. His research interests are in empirical corporate finance, innovation, and entrepreneurship, with a particular focus on understanding the relationship between financial conditions and technology investments. Some of his recent research papers studied issues around technology adoption, intellectual property, the organization of innovation, entrepreneurship policies, and private equity. His research has been published in some of the leading journals in economics and finance.

Filippo grew up in Cesena, Italy, and he received a B.A. and a M.Sc. in Economics from Bocconi University. After moving to the US, he obtained a MA and Ph.D. in Business Economics from Harvard University. Before joining Purdue, he was Associate Professor of Finance at Kellogg School of Management, Northwestern University.
