Rob Elliott

Rob Elliott is a Clinical Assistant Professor of Management at Purdue University where he teaches courses related to data analytics, software development, systems analysis & design, and cloud computing. He is also the Managing Director of the Master of Business and Technology (MBT) program. He has an extensive background in Information Technology education and has developed software products for several multinational firms and non-profit organizations.

Rob has received several teaching honors at Purdue, including the Salgo-Noren Outstanding Master's Teaching and Distinguished Instructor awards in the Daniels School of Business. Notably, he was also awarded the Indiana University President’s Award for Distinguished Teaching. He is a passionate faculty advocate and mentor and is a member of both the Purdue Teaching Academy and IU Faculty Academy on Excellence in Teaching.

Rob's teaching philosophy centers on experiential learning both at home and abroad. He believes that "every classroom is a laboratory" and that students learn best when they get their hands dirty and work through real, messy problems rather than traditional problem sets and case studies. His students have created standalone products and have collaborated with community partners, globally-recognized firms, and international peers in their pursuit of tangible, real world experiences. His research focuses on the intersection of technology and the classroom and ensuring students are fully trained and equipped to participate, collaborate, and succeed.
