Krannert rises four spots in BloombergBusinessweek MBA rankings

Purdue University's Krannert School of Management jumped four spots in this year’s Bloomberg Businessweek MBA rankings, rising to #18 among public universities, #16 among employers and to #38 overall.
The survey has five components:
· An employer survey is 35% of the score; it assesses how recruits asses graduates’ performance on specific qualities important to their organizations.
· An alumni survey is 30%; graduates from 2009, 2010 and 2011 report their increase in compensation, job satisfaction and feedback about their MBA experience.
· A student survey is 15%; Class of 2017 graduate were asked about campus climate, effectiveness of career services, and responsiveness of faculty and administrators. The survey is weighted with responses from Class of 2017 (75%) and Class of 2016 (25%).
· Job placement is 10%; it measures Class of 2016 at three months after graduation.
· Starting salary is 10%; it includes only base salary figures.
Our ranks this year (last year in parenthesis):
· Employer survey: 16 (17)

Our employer rank is #1 for in-state schools (IU is 36 and Notre Dame 50). It is also fourth among Big Ten schools and fifth among public schools. The 11-spot jump for students is encouraging, as that number still includes 25% from last year’s ranking.
Purdue rose from #11 among Big Ten schools to #7, passing Minnesota, Maryland, Iowa and Wisconsin. This year’s Big Ten numbers (last year in parenthesis):
